Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! We had a great day today and once again I am reminded just how blessed we are. Carson and Brantley most have been really good as Santa was pretty good to them! I know they had a fun day but I just want them to never forget the real reason for Christmas and celebrate the birth of the one who brings us hope!
Speaking of hope.....my heart has been very heavy and sad since Christie had her mastectomy on Friday and we learned that she also had cancer in her lymph nodes. We had been very hopeful that the doctors would have said differently but they did not. It makes me so sad for her but her faith is amazing and she is has touched so many lives through this trial. She is such a sweet person who has taught me so much and she was an answered prayer to my life. We know the road is going to be difficult but she will one day be able to say she is a breast cancer survivor and I am going to be right there beside her on this journey!
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas....still cannot add any pictures but hope to get that fixed soon. May we never forget the REASON FOR THE SEASON!

Forever Changed

Where do I begin...this week has not been good. One of my dearest and bestest friends, Christie was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is only 29 and 9 weeeks pregnant. She is scheduled now for a mastectomy on the 21st. It just really stinks and our lives will forever be changed because of it. She is an awesome woman of faith and will continue and has blessed so many through her courage. She is truly one of the most sincere people I know and she is geniune in all she does. I am so glad that I have her family as our friends as we prayed for friends like them and they have really blessed us. We joke about her having great boobs after this journey is all said and done and how jealous I am really going to be. I have found this week to be very trying and questioning why this is happening and why now. I know that our GOD IS BIG and Christie and her precious baby are going to be OK.....but I just get so sad because I don't want my friend to have cancer...but you can bet that I am going to be praying non stop and will proudly wear a "my friend beat cancer" shirt and might even end up with a new tatoo.

Carson and Brantley continue to be wonderful and really bless my life. They are ready for Christmas and Santa and oh how I remember the anticipation of Christmas Eve...getting up in the middle of the night to see what Santa brought us.

Christmas Dreams party is this week and I pray that each youth attends and is blessed because of it. This week has again put so much in perspective.....to remember the reason for the season.

Brantley is also having her 3rd set up tubes (maybe 3 can be her lucky number) on the 18th and they are also going to do some allergy testing. Hopefully these ones will work for longer and she will get rid of any discomfort she might have. We will pray her through surgery as it is always scary when they take her out of your arms, makes me think of how Mary felt holding her baby boy that was going to die for the rest of us......

Till next time

Another set....

So we learned this week that Brantley will be getting her THIRD set of tubes on Tuesday....they will also be doing some allergy testing as well. I pray that this will be her last set and that they will take away all of the discomfort she must have in her little ears. It makes me sad to think that she maybe has gotten used to them hurting more than not....will will pray for her protection during the procedure and that they will work like they need to.
My precious friend has also been heavy on my heart this week. She is having a procedure done on Monday and we must lift her up that God will protect her precious blessing she is carrying inside of her and that she will get good news. Once again, I am reminded how important our faith is and how very precious life is.
The kids had their Christmas program at Lakeridge today and both did really well. Brantley absolutely loves to sing and although she may not know all of the words, she is going to move her mouth like she does and do all of the hand movements. It hit me as we were sitting there that next year we will be attending Carson's program at school...yikes...I am so not ready for him to start school. I just want to keep him and protect him from the world out there....I think I just don't want to share him with the school system:) I just pray that Cy and I can instill in them the values of being good people. At dinner tonight we talked about Jesus and it being his birthday. We just might have to make him a birthday cake...I really want to start traditions for years to come that will mean something to my kids., this just might be one of them! Carson was able to say that he lives in our hearts and we reminded him that Jesus is always with us.
Good night...I have a book that I would really like to get finished so at least that is one thing that can be marked off the list in my head.

Makes me HAPPY!

This makes me happy! I had no idea that my father was making devil ears on me...I love my brother's face and where is Carson?
Happy times!

It's Starting to Look a Lot Like Christmas.....

Well....we finally got up most of our Christmas decorations and only broke about 4 glass ornaments...not too bad really. This is one of my favorite times of the year and I love to have the Christmas tree lights on and just sit and look at them. We actually invested this year in better Christmas lights for the house and they look really good. Cy is so proud they are still glowing and all of the house is lit up....last year they were always blowing a fuse and did not look too good.

Today when we were at Holland Garden, Carson told Brantley he wanted to go look at the Cracker Nut....I could not figure out what he was saying but then I saw him trying to play with the mouth of a Nut Cracker that was taller then him.....made me laugh! He also asked tonight for dinner if he could have some "flower seeds" instead of sunflower seeds....oh the things he says.

I did a little shopping today but am really starting to get anxious about what we are buying everyone....I just feel so blessed having a healthy family so that is my gift. I have been blessed with an amazing husband who is not only my best friend but I can honestly say I would be lost without....our kids are just wonderful and I have lifetime friends that mean the world to me as well as family members that are great too! My parents actually celebrated their 33rd anniversary this week and I am really thankful for what they have taught me and I am so blessed to have them to look up too. I know they have gone through some tough times but TOGETHER they made it through!

I do feel like this blog jumps from thought to thought but that is what it is for, right? So many things I want to do with so little time. I hope Cy will get our computer fixed so I will have a better way to post pictures....add one more thing to the to do list:)

The Beginning

I hope this will be the beginning of a journey that will continue for a long time to come. I always say I am going to write things down but never do...so might as well start now. It is so heavy on my heart that my family, children and those that know me know how special they are to me. I think it would be so neat for my children to be able to look back and read/see that things that happened in their life and know how much the time with them is treasured and how much they are loved.....I wish I had the words to convey this the way others do. So here is to a blogspot that will possibly become a habit:)

I guess you are supposed to talk about things as well that happen in your life. SO today I had my first ever wreck. Nothing major with no visible damage but unfortunately it was my fault and life goes on. Hopefully we will never hear another thing from the lady that was not so very nice and Carson learned another lesson from mom about police and following the rules.

Brantley and Carson continue to do great. My prayer for them is that they know how much they are loved and how blessed our family is by them. Not only do I have an amazing husband and family but friends that are amazing!

Since this is down on paper....maybe that will make me follow through with this.
